Comments of the jury:
- The project offers a clear rational and is anchored in promoting integration of refugees linking their settlement to the sub-rubs of the city. More attention could have been given to this aspect which actually makes the project interesting. The drawings in fact focus on the refugee settlement only. The project seems easy to implement aside from the ecosystem elements which would need more details and cost estimation. Cost benefit analysis relevant to their use could have convinced better the jury. It seems that the settlement design of the household units remains at the very basic standard - in term of space and common services such as latrine - while the reminder part of the project suggests the willingness to think at durability. Movements within the settlement are not clear given the fact that there is no space for parking.
- Highly flexible rule set applied with skill but - is this tight focus on geometries sufficient to solve the problem?
- Good narrative on the value of agency for the refugees and consideration for economic exchange, but the hexagon geometry may be creating unnecessary constraints.
